Mid Year Freak Out Tag

I found this tag over at Christina’s blog and I decided to do it! Because what’s better than a mid year recap? Also where did half the year go already?

Best Book You’ve Read Yet in 2016

This book will go down in history as one of my all time favourite books, it gave me a serious book hangover.

Me Before You (Me Before You, #1)

Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2016

This one was a bit harder to answer because I haven’t been reading any sequels to the series I am still working on. The first book that came to my mind was The Infinite Sea because I am loving The 5th Wave series!

The Infinite Sea (The 5th Wave, #2)

New Release that You Want to Read but Haven’t Read Yet

There are two for this one. Like with my previous answer, I can’t wait to read The Last Star, and I have also loved The Selection Series so I am looking forward to finishing it by reading The Crown!

The Last Star (The 5th Wave, #3)  The Crown (The Selection, #5)

Most Anticipated Release For the Second Half of the Year

I will always be a huge Harry Potter fan. Although I had really mixed feelings about there being a new Harry Potter book, as the time approaches, I can’t lie, I’m super excited for it!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Biggest Dissapointment

After seeing this book everywhere on Instagram, I was really excited to finally start it. However it just didn’t do it for me. So naturally I was really disappointed by that.

Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe #1)

Biggest Surprise

When I randomly picked this up I had no idea I just picked up an absolutely amazing book. I’m pretty sure I read this book in just a few hours because I literally could not put it down.

Dangerous Girls

Favourite New Author

So far I am loving Kate Collins! Her Flower Shop Mystery series is just absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to finish this series up and watch the movies.

Kate Collins

Newest Fictional Crush

Evan Walker. Do I really need to say more? If you watched the 5th Wave, or read the books, you know exactly who I’m talking about!

Newest Favorite Character

I am loving Abby Knight from the Flower Shop Mystery Series! She’s hilarious and awesome!

Mum's the Word (A Flower Shop Mystery, #1)

Book That Made You Cry

This book made me bawl my eyes out. The movie made me bawl my eyes out. This book <333.

Me Before You (Me Before You, #1)

Book That Made You Happy

This was given to me by the lovely author for review, and it was such a  nice surprise! The book really leaves you feeling awesome and happy. Such a great great book for anyone who is in the dating scene.

No Plus One: What to Do When Life Isn't a Romantic Comedy

Favorite Book to Film Adaptation

Again, it’s Me Before You, this movie hit me in the feels.

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4)  The Siren  17234658

Dashing Through the Snow Tag

I came across this on Books At Dawn and since I”m trying to get back into blogging, I thought this would be perfect!

Dashing Through the Snow Tag was created by Astra @ A Strangers Guide To Novels.

Name a book you’d like to see under your Christmas tree?

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4)

A book you’ll be reading during the Christmas season?

A Crafty Christmas

Identity Withheld

I bought these two books last Christmas season and never got around to reading them yet.

Favorite Christmas movie?

The Polar Express ❤

Do you like snow?

Name a character you would like to spend Christmas day with?

Hmm I think Georgia Nicholson because she’s hilarious and I just want to be having fun this Christmas.

To give or to receive?

Honestly to give. There is nothing I want this Christmas that money can buy me.

What fictional place would you like to spend Christmas at?

Fondest Christmas memory?

When I bought my mom her favorite childhood book that she used to check out every month from the library. I found an old library edition for like $100 because it was considered a rare book. It was def the best Christmas to be able to give that to her 🙂

Can you say “Christmas tree” ten times fast in a row (while pronouncing them correctly)?

Reading Habits Tags

I was tagged by the amazing Calliope over at Calliope the Book Goddess to do a reading habits tag 🙂 (I’m slowly getting to all the tags <3) Which of our habits are the same? Different?

Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

I like reading all over the place. I am the pure image of those comics all over the internet about different reading positions. I like to read in bed, on the couch, in the backyard catching some sun, at the kitchen table, at my desk in my room. You name it, I read in it.

Bookmark or random piece of paper?

I like bookmarks. I went through a bit of a bookmark spree a while ago and made a bunch of crocheted bookmarks that have bows on them! Super cute. The only time I use a random piece of paper is if it’s a library book. I never know what people do with library books so I don’t want my bookmarks getting dirty.

Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop at the end of a chapter/a certain amount of pages?

I usually like stopping at a certain place, or the end of a chapter. Even a page break ro start of a new paragraph. Unfortunately though life isn’t always like that so I’m ok when I have to stop in the midddle of anywhere.

Do you eat or drink while reading?

I don’t like to eat while I read. Actually if it’s a fruit I’m good munching on some good fruit and reading. I also love to have a huge cup of tea while I read.

Multitasking: music or TV while reading?

Nope I like pure silence. I mean I don’t mind the background noise but I can’t multitask like that anymore.

One book at a time or several at once?

It’s always been one book at a time except for lately (mostly this month) I’ve been reading more than one book at a time. For larger books such as the Game of Thrones series it’s hard to read just that.

Reading at home or everywhere?

I can read anywhere. I generally read at home. I’m good with reading at work during breaks as well.

Reading out loud or silently in your head?

Silently. I hate reading out loud.

Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

Nope. Although sometimes if a book is really not getting my attention I will skim certain parts.

Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

Keeping it as new as possible. I hate cracking the spines 😦

Do you write in your books?

nooooo way!! lol

If you feel like doing this tag I tag you 🙂 I also tag

Disney Book Tag

I was tagged by Aneta over at Inspirescript to do this Disney book tag! I’m pretty excited about it because I love Disney. I imagine it’ll be a bit hard, but I’m up for the challenge!

1. The Little Mermaid – A character that is out of their element, a “Fish out of Water”.
Mare Barrow from Red Queen. I don’t want to give away much in case someone hasn’t read it, but she definitely during the book is taken out of her element.

2. Cinderella – A character that goes through a major transformation.
America Singer from The Selection series. I love this series so much, I know people either loved it or hated it, but America goes through a major transformation once she enters the selection.

3. Snow White – A book with an eclectic cast of characters.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children definitely has an eclectic cast of characters.

4. Sleeping Beauty – A book that put you to sleep.
I love Pretty Little Liars, I love the show, I loved the first half of the series! But Crushed put me to sleep. I think that Sara Shepard should have just ended the series after we found out who A was. There was no point in starting another mystery with the same cast of characters.

5. The Lion King – A character that had something traumatic happen to them in their childhood.
Audrey from Finding Audrey had something happen to her in her early teen years. The book never does say what it was that happened, although they hint heavily towards it.

6. Beauty and the Beast – A beast of a book (a big book) that you were intimidated by, but found the story to be beautiful.
I was intimidated by City of Bones because it was a pretty big book. I ended up loving it! However it’s really sad because halfway through the series I lost interest but City of Bones was amazing.

7. Aladdin – A character that get’s their wish granted, for better or for worse.
Cassie from Christmas at Tiffany’s was betrayed by her husband, but still has hope in love. I can’t give away why I think this fits the Aladdin category because I don’t want to spoil the book.

8. Mulan – A character that pretends to be something or someone they are not.
Lottie from Wedding Night pretends to be madly in love with a guy she just met, and continue’s to go through with a marriage to him. This book is HILARIOUS.

9. Toy Story – A book with characters you wish would come to life.
For me it would be Harry Potter, not just the characters but that entire world!

10. Disney Descendants – Your favourite villain or morally ambiguous character.
Neferet from House of Nights series. You hate her, but you think the books wouldn’t be the books without her!

Kerry and Christina have both tagged me for 3 days 3 quotes, I’ve done the first day a while back (I know I’m terrible at keeping up with these) so here’s the second quote. I decided to make it Disney related since the post is Disney!

A Few of My Favorite Quotes #31daymarch - Pretty Opinionated #Quote

Tags & Bookish talk

I want to say hi to all my new followers! Thank you 🙂 I’ve been tagged to do some things, I’m guessing it’s a lot like instagram, where I just create blog posts with what I’ve been tagged with. I can’t really nominate yet because I don’t even follow enough blogs, the ones I do have already done these. Maybe you all can leave me some links of some of your favorite book blogs for me to check out!
